Accident claim SMS from 07501062468 Post a reply to this message

From 07501062468 on 17th April 2012

"URGENT: We have been trying to contact you regards your recent accident; you could be due up to 1,500 in compensation. Reply CLAIM for info, STOP to opt out."

I replied with "CLAIM" to find out who replies. The original spam SMS was sent by Sellers Griffin, but they will have sold the lead on to another company. See my main post for information on who Sellers Griffin are, and why I know that they are sending me these illegal texts:

A few days later the matching phone call from 07949126211 from someone called Lewis (Louis?) representing "Injury Claim Line". I gave him details of a fake accident and he proceeded to tell me to claim that I had whiplash symptoms, even though I stated I had no injuries. Very naughty.

After that phone call finished they passed my details to a company called "Direct Assist" (www.directassist.info) who, kudos to them, refused to take my case when I said I had no injuries. They are currently refusing to tell me which company sold my details on to them though, so I'm going to have to send them an official request under the Data Protection Act to force it out of them.

I have also reported the original number to the Vodaphone Nuisance Caller Bureau who say they are taking action against the senders. Use this to find which network a number is on:
