Safe style UKDO NOT USE SAFESTYLE UK ----- UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!
I have had the whole of my front of house done by these guys, and alhough we had the silly BOGOFF price game, they did what they said, and fillted them in one day; which was far too much for 16 windows. The windows themselves look lovely, but they had holes around the edges where I could see the road......so they came out on 2 occassions to put these right. But as far as the quality of the windows are concered, they are noiser and all have condensation on them. This is half way up all the panes. They come up with some cock and bull story saying that these windows are so good they keep the heat in and that it is my house that is damp so what was the point in me having them put in, as my old ones were fine, so much better than these .. I only replaced them because they were old and wrong style. Wish I'd not bothered.
I'm not sure safestyle windows are EVEN what they say they are.....A rated. Because everytime I contact them they ask which windows I have, then they said they only have A rated ones. Sounds iffy to me , should I beleive them? Why say you can have our best windows if these are the only ones they use? This is part of their game i suspect.
Also these windows are NO GOOD when they came round to put new rubber in the panes, I was so surpised at the crap ones which are in them. cheap or what?
Anyway after coming out afew times they are still noisy.
They also say on their web page they are endorsed by certain federations but I clicked and emailed one of these and they are not even known by these companies. So STEER CLEAR much better to get your builder to buy some for you from a local glasier.... Be warned big is not always best..... I just wish I never had them done..
Re: Appalling customer service and shirking responsibility***** Door Update ****
Just having door repaired and renovated (at my expense) by a professional wood restorer / french polisher.
Now discover that door is basically very poor quality with a very very thin veneer overlaid on cheap wood just like the cheapest laminate you get in B&Q.
Just avoid these cowboys as the product is poor and over priced and the sales & support service is appalling.

They are still doing business and still refusing responsibility for something that is clearly their fault. I'm sorry you had your post deleted and surprised as they asked me to remove mine, but seemed powerless to remove it after I refused.
Not sure what your issue was, but they have been appalling in not sorting out clear problems on my door. I looked at suing them through the small claims court but as they don't award damages you can spend £3k trying to get a £2k settlement. Rubben probably know this hence their attitude.
I've added my negative review on a number of sites as a warning against anyone else doing business with them.

Re "Barratt Homes quality" posted by steveandwendy at 11:06 18/07/07 ...
I moved in to my new Barratt three storey town house with an integral garage in 2004 and have been writing to them constantly since then about how cold it is on the ground floor. They have changed the radiators from single to double in the ground floor hallway and bedroom but the problem remains. The thermostat for the central heating is in the living room where there are two radiators so when the heat reaches the tmepertaure on the dial it switches off. Even in the summer when the heating is not on it is cold on the gound floor. I think it may have something to do with the integral garage but Barratt have written to me to say the are taking no further action into trying to solve the problem. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how was it resolved?
Hi how was this resolved, we now have this problem and arent getting anywhwhere
Comet and HP - a losing combination.Made the huge mistake of buying a HP Photosmart B110 printer from Comet.
After 14 months - while not quite at the end of its second set of (Genuine) inks the machine failed. On switching on to print a document it displays an error message
Quote:
Ink System Failure.0xc19a003e. Please turn printer Off then On
Now this machine hasn't seen heavy use, nor has it had cheap generic ink carts used. I expected better from a name like HP. It ensures that no more HP gear will be purchased by me - Like Asus with their 3 year warranty that wasn't, I can drop a brand completely. The next one - when I have some money to replace it - will be back to Canon - maybe I should dig my old BJC80 out of the loft and see if I can get the inks to refill again. That was second hand to me in '99, shame HP cant manage even a quarter of the life that that one had before I retired it in '06
Have tried all the various fixes on the web, none of them work, and Comet want to charge £60 to have the printer assessed before they will consider replacing it as having failed the SGA requirements on durability.
I'm not throwing any more money at this - the assessment cost is more than we wasted on the purchase of the printer. The annoying thing is that the 5 year old Canon we gave away - that this replaced - is still plugging away even on generic inks, and while I didn't expect to get a same day exchange for this HP unit - I didn't expect them to try to extort £60 from me to assess a £50 machine especially as it had failed in a ridiculously short space of time - ironically it may be that had I been a slightly harder user of the unit it would have probably failed within a year.
So I guess the word is that HP is a brand I will avoid in the future, I will stick with Canon - as I have done for many years until now, and whatever replaces it certainly WONT be coming from Comet. They have seen the last of me as a fairly regular customer.
When national chains like this give me the finger - I tend to return the compliment and buy on line as and where I can. no wonder more and more people are buying off the web, the bricks and mortar stores seem to fail BOTH on price and Customer Service. I know we allegedly have protection under the durability of goods requirements of the sale Of Goods Act, but it also allows for what amounts to deterrent charging for "assessments" by the sellers - a weakness of the act in my view.
Comet... How to lose a regular customer - no wonder they had to be sold for a pound - I'm not sure they are even worth that. As for HP - AVOID is my motto from now on.
(My Personal View)
One expensive mistakeNever use safestlye for your windows or doors; we had them in to quote us for a polycarbonate roof and a patio door.
After 4 fitting dates they arrived today (yahoo) came home to find they have put 4 new polycarbonate panels in the old frame, so not happy, when we have the guy out to price up we told him that we need a new roof as it leaks everywhere, which he said yep we can do that.
I have phoned them to be told it only says tiles to which I said £1100.00 for 4 polycarbonate panels he said yes that is all they had to do.
He them said to write to customer services and they will look in to it, I am not happy and I just don’t know what to do.
Any advice would be very much appreciated
First let me say that I have no personal gripe with the Jumbrolly
I bought my Jumbrolly about 10 yrs ago at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and have had no problems with it save that from wear and tear I wanted to replace the canopy. Searching Google for an address I came across various sites complaining about the issues mentioned on here and the court cases involved. Consequently believing the company to be bust I have made do with the now quite worn Jumbrolly after 10 years exposure to the elements.
Imagine my surprise on visiting Milton Keynes today (19 05 12), finding a garden exhibition outside John Lewis, and there, on display was my very same Jumbrolly under the company name of HAMSHIRE GARDEN FURNITURE. Seeking out the stall holder , a man mid 50’s, about 5’11” about 240lbs full head of greying wavy hair no name badge to identify himself, I said how happy I was to see them because I had believed them bankrupt after searching for them on the internet a few years ago and finding only court cases against them. He categorically denied any such cases and said they had been going 38 years. Feeling a bloody fool I left with my tail between my legs so to speak and came home to discover how I could have made such a mistake. Now I see I didn’t, and I can only say that no matter how bad my brolly gets if a guy can blatantly lie to my face like that there is no way I will give him any money in exchange for goods.
I don't think he exhibits at Hampton Court Flkower show, the premier show in the country any more, I wonder why.
After contacting MK centre and leaving a message for management to explain my concerns about Jumbrolly and then following it up by my post on here, I now note the requests by ‘centralexhibitions’ on this site on five occasions on 13/02/12 for further information regarding Jumbrolly.
As ‘centralexhibitions’ actually organised the show
(see Gardening Shows in Milton KeynesFriday May 18th -Sunday May 20th 2012. Middleton Hall, Central Milton Keynes. Get ready for the great Milton Keynes Gardening Show at Middleton Hall, www.centralexhibitions.co.uk )
I have to believe that they are well aware of the issues involved here but chose to disbelieve them.

Re: Kirby vacuum cleanersRe "Re: Kirby vacuum cleaners" posted by grahamw at 10:08 19/05/12 ...
Kirby are now at it again. Exactly the same format - promise of free carpet cleaning, no sales pressure, promise of no product etc. I also checked that it was free and told that they were expanding their carpet cleaning business into Leics from Notts and hoped that they would recommend us to friends.
I smelled a rat when they wanted both of us there to watch a carpet being cleaned. So I challenged the guy when he arrived at the door. Smart suit, tie and looking not at all like someone prepared to spend an hour's graft cleaning a carpet.
I again asked whether he was going to just clean the carpet and leave. His English was not very good and just said the magic word "Kirby". He eventually confessed that he was going to demonstrate the cleaner - still on the doorstep, at which point I told him that it was pointless wasting his and my time and told him to leave. Which he did.
The name of the distributor is ELI Distribution of Notts. BEWARE!!
I was surprised when "Kirby" didn't come up in a search!
I'm a very sceptical type of person but when a card dropped through my door advertising a newly-started carpet cleaning company in my area and offering entry into a draw to have the first carpet cleaned for free, I thought I'd give it a go. We have a couple of large carpets which needed cleaning and I thought this was a chance to get one done for nowt.
Well, surprise, surprise - our name was drawn out of the hat! All we had to do was call to arrange a time and date and a cleaner would come round and clean one carpet free of charge - no obligation. I asked if he would try to sell me anything and the girl said no, he wouldn't.
On the day, at the appointed hour, the door-bell rang. I opened it to find a young chap in a smart suit who proceeded to check my name and address details and ask whether my wife and I were both at home. Odd, I thought.
I checked with him that he wasn't going to try to sell us anything. No, he said. Okay, I said, it's the hall carpet: get going whilst I watch the TV. At this point it was clear that his understanding of our rendezvous was not absolutely identical to mine - I thought he was coming to clean a carpet, whereas he had not been told this: he had come to sell me a Kirby vacuum cleaner!
I insisted that he clean the carpet as agreed and then leave. He said he would, but he wanted to show us the cleaner as he assembled it. I said we might offer the occasional glance but as we had been collared by a Kirby salesman once before, many years ago, we knew what it was all about and we were perfectly happy with our Dyson.
Needless to say the evening turned into a full-blown sales pitch with laminated slides, pre-prepared sachets of dust which he threw around our fairly-new lounge carpet and then sucked up, showing us the filters with great glee. See, can your Dyson do that? (Actually, it can, and does!)
Every time he paused for breath we reminded him that he was here purely to clean the carpet in the hall and there was no way on God's earth we were going to spend £2500 or whatever on a vacuum cleaner - albeit one with a headlamp! He smiled, he cajoled, he cracked jokes, he even commented that we were "hard work". Yes, we said, that's because we'd been lied to and we were not very happy about it.
Eventually he got the message and disappeared out to the hall where he gave the carpet a few perfunctory passes with the magical Kirby, then packed his kit away, complaining not so quietly to himself that he'd had a completely wasted evening. Yes, we thought, so had we.
Unfortunately we had thrown the original card away, never thinking for a moment that we would win the free carpet cleaning, so I couldn't call them up and let them know what I thought of their deceptive advertising techniques. However a few days later the phone went early one evening and it was the "local carpet cleaning company". For start they weren't local at all - the caller id gave a Wiltshire number - and also they didn't seem interested in how the cleaning went, they just wanted to know whether I'd been impressed with the Kirby and how many could they put me down for!

Needless to say I gave them a piece of my mind - I won't bore you with the details. I then placed the receiver down on the side and left it off-hook. When I passed by maybe an hour or more later I could hear a tiny voice, so I picked it up and said "hello". It was the "local carpet cleaning company": as I hadn't put my phone back on hook he'd been unable to disconnect and had been listening to our TV in the background, unable to make any more of his nuisance calls to unsuspecting members of the public. "Good", I said, and promptly didn't hang up again. (The line was clear by the following morning.)
So, Kirby, I spurn you as I would spurn a rabid dog. If I could remember the taunts from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I would taunt you, then ah wood taurnt you some more! As it is, you're not worth one additional moment of my valuable time except to write...

HSBC Managed Loan / Debt Management CompaniesI have a managed loan with HSBC. I am with a debt management company called Immediate Financial, who charge me £25 a month for their services. I have to send money to them by standing order on the first day of the month, which they forward to my creditors by cheque within 5 days of receiving it. HSBC insist on the money being paid into my current account with them, from which it is transferred by standing order into my managed loan on the 20th of the month. If it is paid earlier than this, it is not recognised as a 'contractual' payment but an additional one, and I am considered to have missed a payment. If the money isn't in my current account in time to pay the standing order, the standing order bounces and HSBC charge me £25. Can this be right? I never applied for the managed loan - it was a consolidation of a credit card debt, an overdraft on my current account and a professional studies loan. It was forced on me by HSBC when I was with a previous debt management company, the Debt Support Network, now closed down by the Office of Fair Trading.
Re: Great ServiceHi Saint Custard and Jonnye,
First of all Jonnye many thanks for your kind words they are very much appreciated.
In fairness the level of service provided to Saint Custard did fall extremely short of what be expected from the business now, and for that we are very sorry However there has been a HUGE change in the business and the way it is run, how customers are treated and how complaints are resolved
Forums like this provide businesses like us the opportunity to improve the service we provide by taking the feedback seriously and acting on that feedback. When I joined the Business in January 2011 as General Manager I read your comments with horror! Your feedback was used as an example of how not to do it.
In My previous role I ran a Lexus Dealership and fully understand that the customer comes first, cars are extremely complex and can be unpredictable at times however when things do go wrong is the time that we should shine and not be seen as sharks!

New website - www.myglass.org.ukI spotted a new website called www.myglass.org.uk the other day from the Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme. It looks really interesting as you can leave full written reviews on any company (not just members) you have used before and rate them.
Has anyone used a DGCOS member before? I''d been keen to use them given the extra protection you get from the scheme but I''m not sure which companies are members or not. Would be great to get some suggestions if anyone has used them.
Talenttext UKI accidentally signed up to something called Talenttext. I received an email about getting auditions for parts, which I was fairly interested in. So I clicked on the website and it required me to confirm my Mobile number to sign up, which I did. But now they keep sending me premium SMSs which cost £1 per text for me, which I never really signed up for as they didn't say this was going to happen on their website. I've replied STOP to the number they have stated on their website to send stop to, this didn't work, neither did STOP ALL. I also emailed them, but still nothing. This is the link I was emailled,
http://www.talenttext.co.uk/registration/audition_email/?src=aff&utm_source=TalentText+UK&utm_campaign=1e7d3b75ff-UK_HOBBIT_14_26_2012&utm_medium=email
There is absolutely nothing on that link about getting charged, or even getting sent a text.
700134473 premium textsMy daughter is receiving texts from this number (700134473) and I am being charged £1.50 a time, resulting in over £20 per month. I have done searches and this number seems to have no origin! Can any one help? I'll be gathering more info from my daughter when she's home and contacting Phonepayplus as Virgin mobile has advised me to do, as they refuse to refund the charges. I am not happy about this...not one bit!!
700034369I will update on the text message as i can't remember them, i just deleted them as i didn't realize i was being charged £1.50 p/message. I phoned Virgin and they looked it up for me, it would appear lots of complaints are being made about this number. They can't stop it so i've been told, i have to contact the originator.....great help (
I was told it's come from www.dialogue.co.uk but when i type it in the end changes to .net...not sure if it's the same people :S
I've tried texting STOP and STOP ALL but then received a report saying " THis is not a UK number" and " please check destination number".
It's costing me a fortune and i just want it stopped (
Please help.
Thanks.
Hutchinson Three UK - ComplaintI have been with Three since 2003 and in October 2010 I was upgraded to the One Plan. However, they offered me a HTC Wildfire, which constantly froze and went into repair three times. The latter time was the last straw. I sent it in for repair in August 2011 and they managed to loose it on their repair line.
I complained on numerous occasions and it fell on deaf ears. I finally complained to the Executive Office, who gave me a Samsung Galaxy W in December, by which time I was totally fed up and had complained to the Ombudsman. In February, the Ombudsman made a final decision in my favour and awarded me a new phone, a letter of apology and £40 compensation.
Three reluctantly agreed to this and on the same day as confirming that they would not challenge the decision, they wrote to me saying they were terminating my account and gave me 30 days notice. I complained to the Ombudsman but he said he was powerless to do anything. Three have now terminated my account.
So watch out, if you are successful in securing a victory against Three, they will terminate your account.
The matter has got even worse! Due to the problems which I had with Three, they had given me some credit on my account. Furthermore, the £40 compensation awarded by the Ombudsman was also credited to my account. At the time my account was terminated, i told three that I wanted the credit sent to my bank account. They agreed and said the payment team would be arranging this. Three weeks later, I am now told that they will not be giving me the money as it was a credit from Three and not paid directly from my bank account. This also includes the £40 compensation awarded by the regulator! Surely this can not right. I am writing to the parent company and the press today.
Money Returns (All About Savings)8075007500919548 07500919548 This text arrived on my phone a few days ago from 07500919548: "IMPORTANT - You could be entitled up to £4856 in compensation from mis-sold PPI on credit cards or loans. Please reply PPI for info or STOP to opt out"
I replied "PPI" to see who called back, it turned out to be a company called "All About Savings" (http://www.allaboutsaving.co.uk, company registration: http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/all-about-saving) run by CIARAN HAMILTON and PETER JOHN COOKSON. I gave them some false details to see what would happen.
The way it works is that they sell the details on to a company called "Money Returns" (http://www.moneyreturns.co.uk on 01254685607 and 01254685630) who say that they have been sold "opt-in" numbers. They send round a representative (e.g. Gary Bushnell in Cambridge) to talk to you. They then sell the details to "Key Financial Claims" (http://www.keyfinancialclaims.co.uk on 08455190824) who would take the case, if it were real.
If you want to mess up their business model then do the same as I did, tell them you are self-employed and have PPI on a couple of credit cards and a mortgage, but give them an address that doesn't exist.
I have written confirmation from All About Savings that the company which is actually sending out the junk texts is one called Sellers Griffin. See my other post for more information about that company:
http://www.grumbletext.co.uk/vt.php?p=23730#23730
I do not recall getting the two text messages but on the 9 an10 March I am billed £3 each for the two messages. They originated from 700038137. I contacted Virgin Mobile who advised me to text back STOP which I did. I then receoved a flurry of messages saying the number was incorrect. I was afrais I might be billed for these. I contacted Virgin Media again who referred me to some organisatio called Phone Pay Plus which I have done. I still wait to hear from them. I asked Virgin to block the calls but they said they could not do this. I pointed out that that whoever was doing this is committing theft. I am not happy with Virgin and I want a refund. I am a 70 year old pensioner and cannot afford this having bailed out several banks for the government. Why is it easy to poop on honest people while the law protects scum.
Avoid batteries-man!!!!!Avoid batteries-man like the plague. This is a very dodgy online company selling replacement laptop batteries and the like. Their prices are very competitive but the company is a joke. It even claims to work out of a warehouse in Mayfair, London. Yeah, plenty of warehouses in Mayfair! If your battery does eventually turn up after a long wait, it is likely to be sub-standard and may not work at all. Be safe. Avoid companies like this, spend a little more money and use reputable companies. They also go under the name of batteries-man.co.uk
They may also operate under different names.
Avoid batteries-man!!!!!!!
Unless you wish to waste money. In which case, this is the company for you.

I ran the number through the Phonepayplus checker - it is unrecognized as I expected - as far as I am aware - it is the wrong format for a UK shortcode.
The checker gives a number to contact the regulator on - it would be a good idea to notify them of this problem they can be reached on 0800500212.

You have a problem with a company which you want to sort out
We always recommend posting some information about your problem on our forum - you get back at the company by warning others about them, and you may also find people respond to your post with useful information
You can also search on Grumbletext to see what useful information other people have put up - maybe people have had exactly the same problems as you - start with the 'Search Grumbles' facility at the top left of any Grumbletext page, and if you need to refine your search click on Advanced Search (available just underneath 'Search Grumbles' on all pages) to find out how
Or, click here to find out more about sorting out problems with companies on Grumbletext
You have a complaint about a company which you would like to post on this website
Posting up a complaint about a company to let people know about your experience of them is very simple, just click the 'post message' link below to get the info on what to do. Do not use this link for matters to do with premium rate call or text problems (see below)
Grumbletext is very heavily covered by Google - your posts directly impact the companies which let you down by warning others not to do business with them
You have a problem with premium rate telephone calls or texts which you want to sort out
Grumbletext has a special section, called SOS Premium Rate, entirely devoted to problems with premium rate telephone calls or texts, including emails which promote them.
Posting the premium rate-related spam/scams/cold calls you've been subjected to and the problems you have had up onto the Grumbletext site is a great way to warn others not to fall for them, which stops the companies behind them making so much money
