Argos still giving rubbish customer service
I wish I had seen this site before I ordered a kitchen table from Argos Direct. The order was placed in the 3rd week of November giving ample time for Argos to deliver before Xmas, we were having family and friends over and needed the extra table. Five weeks passed and Xmas was getting closer, so I rang customer service and asked when it was going to be delivered, I was asked when did I want it, so I said asap, and it was delivered on the 17th December. (so much for being delivered in 21days) The delivery guy brought all the boxes in, it's a large dining table and 6 chairs so quite a few boxes in all, the last box in was obviously the table top large 5' x 5' box as he tipped it up the sound of loose parts falling in the box could be heard (um). That afternoon I began to assemble the chairs all well and good but when I opened the box with the table sure enough there were parts all over the place. It looked to me as this had already been a returned item??? Sure enough when it came to the folding out leaf of the table I couldnt believe it one of the hinges had come away leaving three broken screws, I could not even mend it myself as the screws were snapped at the surface so I could not even get them out of the wood. So I get onto customer services and this is when it all goes down hill. The person on the phone could not give me a date when they would collect it or when I would be able to get a replacement, so I asked her what was her function if she could not offer any service? I also informed her that her company had managed to screw up our xmas plans, I also asked where I was supposed to store this large box until they get their act together? only having a small bungalow there was no where it could go except outside, I wont go into the full conversation but I remained civil. The following day I was so incensed at Argos's lack of concern that I found the email address of one of their CEO's (Raye Summers) and cc'd him in my message, that appeared to do the trick as I then received a phone call and a date was arranged for collection. Why the CSA in the previous evening could of not done that amazes me, I was then reassured that a replacement had been ordered. The broken item was collected and we did not hear another word from Argos for another 7 weeks, so I emailed them again, a reply was received and was asked to contact them. So I call the number and was put through to one of their advisors, I had to explain the whole sorry saga to him who then says ok I'll just check and puts me on hold, the next thing I know I am now put through to a female who then asks me for the reason of the call, aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh I asked why her colleague did not explain the reason I was calling, don't you people talk to each other? I then went on to explain to her what had happened, she appeared totally disinterested, so I asked her what she was going to do about the replacement? Yes the table is in stock (so why haven't they sent it?) when do you want it delivered? all the dates I offer are no good so now we have to wait another two weeks before we get it, I just checked with her that it was the table and legs were getting, and she replied and the six chairs, noooooo I don't need the chairs I already have them, she replied oh well just take the table. I give up. So I will wait and see if it ever gets delivered, at least we may have it for the following xmas. The moral of the story is.... Don't buy goods from Argos Direct!!!!! The Social Media People Net66 - Lawbreaker, Cheat, Liar
The Social Media People / Net66 - unreformed law-breakers; cheats & liars. '4m4nd4' raised a point that The Social Media People was refusing to supply certain personal data which he/she’d requested, saying they didn’t need to - because it was business data, not personal data. - 4m4nd4 is being lied to!! Some months ago I was also served up with that excuse, but be assured that according to the law (Data Protection Act 1998), AND The Information Commissioner’s Office (‘ICO’; which oversees that law) ALL data TSMP holds is PERSONAL DATA – and NOT business data. (Assuming that you are a small business/sole trader.) Net66/TSMP knows this because they have been advised of it – even though it is the company’s responsibility to know its obligations, and not the responsibility of customers to point it out. ('Ignorance of the law is no excuse.') Has 4m4nd4 requested the information under the facility provided by The Data Protection Act 1998, Section 7? A legally binding request is called a ‘SAR’ (Subject Access Request, sometimes called ‘DSAR’ – Data Subject Access Request)? The organisation holding the data has a legal obligation to provide it within 40 days. No ifs, no buts; they MUST do so – or break the law. You can request selected pieces of information, or ALL information (including correspondence, recordings of calls, bank details, and other things). I already know that Net66 is perfectly willing to break this law – indeed it will blatantly and knowingly do so. Because I sent individual SARs to all the companies in the group – and NONE of the requests has been complied with. And this is despite the intervention of the ICO which told Net66/TSMP to ‘get its finger out’ and comply, because it was already overdue. Net66/TSMP still obstinately refuses to comply with the law, and remains in breach of data Protection Act 1998, Section 7. So – not a lot of hope they’ll be honest in anything else they do or say. Morrison utility services. (1)

Morrison utility services.
Morrison Utiility Services. Beware of this company. Be very aware if Morrison Utility Services come to your property to carry out essential gas maintenance work. They will follow procedures starting with a letter from your utility company (Wales and West Utilities in my case) to let you know when they will begin work. The letter will give dates etc and contain a leaflet and a DVD. They are then likely to rush the work which seems to be all about cost cutting and speed and will take little or no account of customer requests. They will turn up at your property as if they have the authority to do what ever they want. They do not, it’s your house. The work does of course have to be done so watch them very closely. • Do not let them bully or force you into having things done that you do not want just because they want to keep costs down. Remember, it’s your house and you will have to live with the results of the work. • Do not allow them to put a gas box on the outside of your house if you do not want it there. It’s your house so say no. Do not allow yourself to be forced into saying yes. • They might dig several holes in your driveway and garden and then say there are no more options the box has to go here. There are always more options; it just takes a little more time. So say no and do not let cost cutting force you into saying yes. • Do not be bullied by technical talk such as pipe sizes or types etc or any other technical talk, they will try this if you do not readily agree to what they want. • Do not allow them to put ugly copper pipes on the outside of your house which will detract from the appearance and perhaps the value. Or that are in a position where they can be easily be damaged. • Remember, the pipe from the new box to your old supply is suddenly your responsibility. When I pointed this out to a supervisor he could not resist a huge smile. Thought it very funny. • Once these things are in place they will not change them. The complaints procedure is a joke. I had a phone call from a manager who said they were not going to change anything, before he knew what the real problem was. • The supervisor who eventually came to see the work was the same one who oversaw it in the first place. How is that for an independent review? Yes, of course he is going to say he got it wrong. Eventually I received a letter which simply restated the same excuses they had used all along and in my opinion were just excuses. There were also inaccuracies in the letter. They were never going to do anything – just follow procedure then write a letter saying they had been right all along. Useless. Once again, beware Morrison Utilities. Missing Reports? The Social Media People scam (Net66).
The Social Media People - Net66 fails to send Reports? It is interesting to read that 4m4nd4 received no reports. Although if he/she had received them it would have been obvious that they had no credibility and were unverifiable. However, when TSMP set up the deal, and in the now infamous 'Compliance Call', they have been known to promise that during the one month trial period, you don't need to cancel until after you receive the Report. Therefore if you don't get the Report there is no obligation to cancel. I wonder if the Compliance Call between TSMP and 4n4nd4 would reveal the same promise? Many people are 'sticking together' and communicating 'off-line' which is proving helpful and informative. By all means contact me if you wish to share information, as I already have communications and cooperation from dozens of ex-customers. Re:Social Media People
I have contacted Trading Standards this morning, and they have said that the only way forward seems like to start legal action. Has anyone ever been given proof of work done? Other than the "Report" they send claiming a number of "impressions". Has anyone experience of Facebook advertising? I am sure that they must get a report from Facebook confirming the setup of an advertising campaign, the number of impressions, target interests, daily statistics etc, a bit like the Google advertising reports. If they have done the advertising they are supposed of done, why can't the prove it? Has anyone actually seen their own advert in real time on Facebook? Another tactic they have used on me is to not send the reports for a couple of months, so you are already past the cancellation date by they time they send figures, have they done that to anyone else? The Social Media People (47)
   02/02 22:24:19

Billy68 has picked up on several of the 'anomalies' evident when doing business with The Social Media People. Anyone who's deal was in the earlier part of 2011 was almost certainly doing business with 'The Social Network Marketing Company Ltd. trading as The Social Media People'. They had no dealings whatsoever with Net66 - except that payments were sometimes taken (without advising the customer) via Net66. I too am uncertain of the legality or tax acceptability of that situation. At various stages during 2011 TSMP was, according to its own documentation/invoices etc: 'Registered for VAT' - then later 'VAT Number Applied For' - then later again 'Registered for VAT' - and that is despite the fact that they were registered all the while according to HM Customs and Excise. On a letter to me, on the company letterhead of Net66 they even quoted: 1. A FALSE VAT Number. 2. AND a FALSE Registered Company Number. 3. AND they demanded VAT for an item which is not liable to VAT - so that was three lies for the price of one, in just a couple of short lines of text. They'd probably tell us it was a mistake - but I for one have seen so many of these 'anomalies', and heard so many excuses, and seen so much evidence, that I know they are liars, not just error prone morons. Concerning the recent Daniels Silverman debt collector debacle, please also see the 'Daniels Silverman' thread on this site, where the Managing Director of Daniels Silverman responds to criticism. Let's hope her calming statements are all they seem. http://www.grumbletext.co.uk/vt.php?p=23565&subj=lsh+0202+2312+complaints+Re%3A+Daniels+Silverman+-+Debt+Collector+acts+for+Net66+complaint&highlight=daniels+silverman#23565 Similar information is also on ComplaintsBoard.com. Net66 embroils Daniels Silverman in its mess.
Does Daniels Silverman know the facts about The Social Media People (Net66)? Even though Net66’s contractor, Daniels Silverman, has attracted much negative comment on several forums, let’s for the moment accept the re-assurances of its Managing Director - that they work in a professional manner as described. It is evident that, in addition to customer’s comments here on GrumbleText, she has also now seen ComplaintsBoard, where the thread about The Social Media People contains numerous pieces of documentary and recorded evidence (much of it produced by TSMP/Net66 itself) which proves that TSMP/Net66 routinely and unrepentantly lies to and cheats its customers, and the authorities. So we can hope that Daniels Silverman, if it is indeed the ‘honest broker’ it claims to be, will now (if not previously) be fully aware that its client in this case is dodgy, and will be asking TSMP/Net66 some searching questions about the situation arising from the companies doing business together. If the Managing Director of Daniels Silverman is not yet convinced that TSMP/Net66 has no honesty, no ethics, no integrity and no good business practices I am now making the offer to provide original documentation and recordings to further satisfy her. (Recordings of a Director of TSMP telling premeditated lies and assuming aliases!) In addition to original TSMP documents, some have been provided by other customers of TSMP, as well as from Companies House, The Information Commissioner’s Office, the ASA, Barclays Bank, and Trading Standards - so she doesn’t need to rely solely on stuff sent to or created by me. I will send my email address and phone number to the address she provided to ensure she is aware of this, and can contact me should she so choose. 08443850012 Hopefully the info here will save people LOTS of time .. My 11 year old son has been recieving £2 premium text messages. He did not knowingly request this service or buy a product. He has been sent numerous messages so i contacted virgin to cancel them. I spoke to virgin media and they said premium messages had been stopped. WRONG...they started coming back again We recieved another £16 of premium text messages to my 11 year olds phone !!! After days and days of pointless phonecalls ive got to the bottom of it. Call the regulator 'PhonePlayPlus' - 0800500212 and ask them to investigate, takes 2 days so cal back after 2 days, and written info sent to you within 12 weeks as well. Quote the shortcode to make a complaint - short code is 60700 (virgin refused to give it to me) Send STOP to 60700 The Jokerquiz service is run by a company called 'ordanduu'. Their customer service number is - 0844 3850012 Call them to speak to a robot human hybrid if you need to... Ask for a refund via - info@jokerquiz.co.uk Im going to formally complain to about virgin media. Virgin robots hybrids have transferred me to wrong departments, withheld information, hung up the phone and been generally obstructive. Total disgrace. In the last 2 days ive spoke to South Africa, India and probably somewhere in space..Uranus? Couple of questions - Virgin said they cannot stop premium text messages coming to this phone. Is this true?? Virgin said they cannot reduce the credit limit below £50. Is this true?? Hope this helps someone because the whole thing really peed me off. How on earth an elderly person such as my parents would cope i dont know....total fraud and a scandal.. Also this is a 'payforit' service whatever that means...we certainly paid for it... Virgin Mobile unsolicited premium rate texts
My daughter has been billed for unsolicited premium rate texts. Virgin mobile give the number as 700010326 and told her to text STOP. This does not worlk because the number is not a phone number. I phoned Payphoneplus who told me that the number is Virgin's own reference number and that I ahould insist Virgin give me the short code. Virgin say they cant give us the number and its my daughter fault for downloading an app and signing up to the texts. She is adamant she didn't do this. Virgin say the only answer is to cancel her sim and get a new one which she doesn't want to do. Virigin also say they cannot block the messages. Can anybody help? A) would it financially cripple you.. B) considering the amount of advice floating around on this site, from both Adrian and everyone that has posted on here is it not worth £1.50 to you? From a personal point of view i kinda wonder if maybe you aren't as dumb as you seem to be, maybe you actually work for the tellcom companies this website was designed to attack so maybe that should be the focus of the poll. s.cooper, buster2000 and filmygi are they just stupid or are they propaganda for tellcon companies? If you have already sent the STOP reply then the next option is to contact Phonepayplus, which despite its name isn't a spamming service - they are the regulator for premium text services like this one. I had a look at the Tubely site and what I noticed was an ad for people in my area I can "talk to now", suffice it to say that knowing my small west coast town the way I do Im pretty certain that "SEAN" isnt from my area, so the whole site would seem to be one that might be best avoided. Im glad I havent been sucked into the whole "social networking" thing, its a just a marketing tool for ad companies to make money. international telephone calls.
Just a warning!. After receiving over two days 14 international calls on my land line 13 silent, when the 14th came I muttered unprintable words as I picked it up just in case it was the brother in-law who lives In France, it wasn’t the brother in law but the scammer who made the 14 calls using autodialing for 13 with the last (14th dialled manually). ‘ We are ‘garbled name ‘ work on behalf of BT, Vrigin and Sky and you have been receiving many international calls over the last two days (how did he know I never mentioned them then realised later he made them) ‘We can stop them for a small sum of £29.99 payable by bank card. He rang off after I fired off questions he couldn’t reply to and got hot under the collar. It’s a scam for either just £29.99 or clearing out of account once they got card details. Why do I say scam, well as Retired G.P.O /BT engineer I know that if BT cannot stop international calls then his so called package could not either, plus I sussed at the start of his conversation he had made the calls, and yes I reported it the same day to BT my supplyer. So if anyone phones /texts/emails offering to stop nuisance international calls then tell them to stick it . Greasepot. View this post in context of subject discussion Post a reply to this message

You have a problem with a company which you want to sort out

Use Grumbletext to find out how easy and cheap it is to take your dispute with a company to the Small Claims Court, and now it's even easier with an online facility

We always recommend posting some information about your problem on our forum - you get back at the company by warning others about them, and you may also find people respond to your post with useful information

You can also search on Grumbletext to see what useful information other people have put up - maybe people have had exactly the same problems as you - start with the 'Search Grumbles' facility at the top left of any Grumbletext page, and if you need to refine your search click on Advanced Search (available just underneath 'Search Grumbles' on all pages) to find out how

Or, click here to find out more about sorting out problems with companies on Grumbletext

You have a complaint about a company which you would like to post on this website

Posting up a complaint about a company to let people know about your experience of them is very simple, just click the 'post message' link below to get the info on what to do. Do not use this link for matters to do with premium rate call or text problems (see below)
post a message in the Grumbletext: General Consumer forum

Grumbletext is very heavily covered by Google - your posts directly impact the companies which let you down by warning others not to do business with them

You have a problem with premium rate telephone calls or texts which you want to sort out

Grumbletext has a special section, called SOS Premium Rate, entirely devoted to problems with premium rate telephone calls or texts, including emails which promote them.

Posting the premium rate-related spam/scams/cold calls you've been subjected to and the problems you have had up onto the Grumbletext site is a great way to warn others not to fall for them, which stops the companies behind them making so much money

To get an overview of the issue and information on how you can deal with these problems click on the link below :

If you don't want an introduction or further inforamtion, to find out what we've got on the specific premium rate communication you are enquiring about, try doing a search in the 'Search Grumbles' box at the top of this (and any) page. Best thing is to try all or part of the premium rate number, typically beginning 09 and totalling 11 digits or in the case of texts, beginning usually with 8 (sometimes 6 or 2) and totalling either 4 or 5 digits

If you are familiar with premium rate matters and just want to make a posting on the latest one you received, please click the following link:

You have received a strange call, text or email and are wondering what it is and if it's a scam of some kind

You are looking for information before buying or you're just browsing

We have a powerful search engine on every page of Grumbletext - the 'Search Grumbles' box at the top left of every page. If you are trying to find information on a company or topic, that's the best place to start. You can refine your searching by clicking the Advanced Search link just below 'Search Grumbles' which tells you what refinements you can make - once you are familiar you use the majority of those refinements in the 'Search Grumbles' box.

If you are not looking for anything in particular but just want to look around the site, you could start by clicking either of the 'Intro to..' links near the top of the Latest Posts section above on this page. Equally, you could try our Frequently Asked Questions page, or just follow links on some of the subjects covered in the 'Latest Posts' section above to get a feel.
